On November 23, 2014 it was overcast and raining in Raleigh, NC – but Hannah and Ben were getting married and there was no amount of inclement weather that could stifle the excitement. The couple had booked one of the coolest venues in downtown Raleigh for their big day – The Stockroom at 230! It’s a super cool space on the third floor of a partially revamped building built in 1902. There’s different types of exposed brick, and modern industrial elements that come together for a very unique setting. The Stockroom was the perfect place for Hannah and Ben’s laid-back, slightly rustic wedding. The wood floors and hanging cafe lights were a beautiful compliment to the warm yellow tones that were dispersed around the venue. It was wonderful.
One of my FAVORITE things about their wedding was their homemade cake assortment. Hannah chose to have a small wedding cake made that coordinated with her theme, but she also chose to have friends and family make their famous homemade cakes as well! There was Red Velvet, Lemon Blueberry, German Chocolate Pound Cake, Coconut, Pineapple, and many more. I’ll admit that I had to exercise more self control while detailing those than I am accustomed to:) At the end of it all I was able to indulge in a piece of Red Velvet cake for a few minutes – so all is well with my tastebuds!
It was a beautiful wedding. Hannah and Ben are surrounded by some of THE sweetest people I have ever met. It’s a wonderful sight to see two families so overcome with love for two people on their wedding day. I never forget a wedding – they all hold a special place in my heart. But Hannah and Ben’s big day will forever be ingrained on my heart.
Congratulations you two, it was an honor to be your wedding photographer!
