An Elopement: The Barn at Granite Ridge | Mocksville, NC

Y’all! THE coolest styled shoot in forever… For so many reasons!

  1. The venue is incredible. For real.
  2. Our lineup of vendors was insane. Seriously – such a killer group of people.
  3. Our couple was TO. DIE. FOR.
  4. We found out something the day of the styled elopement that made this whole thing 10,000 times better!

Keep reading, I’ll explain…

So let’s start with The Barn at Granite Ridge. This venue is one of THE newest in our area – and so incredibly perfect! I met the owners back in the Spring when they contacted me about shooting their daughter’s wedding. They mentioned they had a family farm and were working on a venue, and I was like “Yeah, ok. I’ve heard that before.” But dang y’all – when I showed up for our final walkthrough I was SOOOO blown away! They have crafted such a classy, yet comfortable space on their farm – and I’m convinced it’s an excellent contender for just about anyone in the market for a place to host their wedding. Really, you’ve got to check them out!

(I mean, maaaaaybe I’m partial since I shot their daughter’s wedding back in June, which was their very first wedding… Or because I tend to think the entire family is a hoot to be around AND some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. I mean, maybe that’s it… But I don’t think that has anything to do with it. :p)

Then we had the killer vendor lineup. Katie over at the venue took charge of this whole thing and wrangled such a talented group of wedding professionals. (You’d be surprised to know that the majority of this came together within about 2 weeks or so!) I was so impressed with how everyone jumped in with all kinds of ideas and input to really make this entire elopement shine… It just goes to show you how the right team of people assembled for your wedding can TRULY make all the difference!

With all of this “Rustic Boho” stuff in place, we needed models. That was something I offered to do – and I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did! I posted a model search on my IG story and crazy fast I had more interest than I knew what to do with. We ended up going with the very first person that replied, and we could not have gotten any luckier if we had tried! Jake + Vannia literally nailed the entire shoot. If I said it once, I said it like 43 times. I was so stinking amazed at how perfect they were together AND in front of my camera. Seriously – they could not have been a more perfect fit!

Alright… I know you’re dying to know what the last thing in the list above is. I’m sure you probably even skimmed the entire post just to get to this part. Well congrats! But I’m going to wait until next week to post that detail, just to keep things interesting! Just kidding. I wouldn’t do that to you! (At least not today anyway. haha)

The really cool thing about this whole thing was what Jake told us the day of the shoot – as Vannia was getting ready. He let us know that they never actually had a wedding… Just a quick courthouse thing to make it all official – so they hadn’t had the chance to do what most people get to do: wedding dress, tux, flowers, etc. THAT made the entire day so much better for all of us! We were so excited to almost be able to give them a wedding they didn’t get the chance to have! Pretty cool memory…

Ok – that’s enough rambling: I’ll link the vendors and let you look at the photos now! Hope you love them as much as we do!

Hey! I know this probably sounds crazy but my wedding is October 15 and my photographer has done my engagement and bridal portraits and I am just not happy with them. She said she is afraid I’m not going to be happy with my wedding photos because of her editing. Would you happen to be available?
